Day at the Museum

This weekend we went to the Madison Children's Museum. They have a lot of neat things for kids of all different ages to do. Leyton especially loved all the water stuff, and when we got to the roof and he saw the chickens he got so excited (they're one of his favorite things at grandma and grandpa's farm) he yelled "I love the chickens!" and ran over to them. Eric and I could not stop laughing!

Daddy's Little Helper

Leyton always wants to help us do whatever it is we're doing, and his newest favorite thing is helping dad mow the lawn!

Leyton has also gotten quite good at riding his trike in the past few months. He can pedal all by himself, but hasn't quite mastered getting up the steep driveway hill yet- although he always wants to try! So far we've only had one accident going down it, thankfully!

Motorcycle Man

For as long as I can remember now Leyton has been obsessed with motorcycles (along with tractors, trucks, construction anything, etc.. I'm assuming it's just part of being a boy!) and the last 2 times we have been to NR visiting, grandpa has spoiled Leyton with motorcycle rides! Don't' worry, they go very slow. Here are some photos from this past weekend after they got back from going for a ride in the fields (hence grandpa's wind-blown hair;)). Leyton always talks about riding on the motorcycles and tractors non-stop after a weekend visiting!

Ella's Birthday!

Last weekend we celebrated Ella's first birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! Everyone had fun and enjoyed great cake, and the kids loved Aunt Jessie's cupcake cones! I didn't do a great job at taking pictures, so I have none of the birthday girl... pretty bad I know! Anyhow, Happy Birthday Baby Ella!Leyton was so tired trying to wait for the cupcakes... I think it may have something to do with the fact that no matter when this kid goes to bed he's always up by 7:45. The night before he went to bed at 12:45 (after the 4 hour car ride) and was up around 7:30!Lucy sporting the mouse ears!Lauren and Leyton helping make cinnamon rolls...

Weekend Activities

This past weekend we had so many errands to do and things to get done after I had been gone the last 2 weekends that it went way too fast. We tried to squeeze a few fun things in too though, so we got up really early and headed to Madison to check out the Iron Man. It was neat to see all of the bikes lined up in the transition area, and see how crazy far the swim really is... and of course Leyton loved seeing all of the bikers in action. We also hit up the farmer's market and Leyton got an airplane balloon that he was very proud of (ignore Eric's funny face- he was busy eating his farmer's market jerky- he has to get it every time!). A view of just some of the bikes in the transition area.... the went on forever it seemed like... Looking out at the swimming area...and the bikers getting started on their 112 miles...

Catching Up

Sorry its been awhile since I've posted so I need to go back a few weeks. The last weekend in August we celebrated Grace and Lucy's birthdays at their house. Lucy turned 4 on August 11th, and Grace turned 6 on August 25th. There was delicious cake and food and even a huge princess bouncy house that all of the kids (and adults!) loved! Then on Sunday we had Maggie's baptism. I forgot my camera so have no pictures :( but she looked absolutely adorable and did great, no tears even when the water got poured on her head!

Even baby Ella got in the bouncy house! She loved it and kept trying to crawl back in when we would take her out!Leyton had a blast driving the tractor that Uncle Dave got out for him...Leyton and Lauren making a mess in the beads...That same weekend we also spent lots of time helping out in the barn, so baths were in order. It's the first time we've had the three of them in the tub together and they did great- besides Leyton getting a little too wild with his splashing a few times! He thought it was pretty neat that Baby Ella got to go in the tub with them too!

One of Leyton's most favorite things to do on the farm- collect the chicken's eggs. This one made it all the way from the barn to the house!
