Baby Update

I am 30 weeks now, and feeling pretty good.  So far everything is on track and looking good with the baby.  I've managed to avoid the terrible back pain I had with Cal, so I'm very thankful for that.  I've been busy getting Cal moved into his big boy bed, which he really made the ultimate push for (blog post to follow), and turning his room into a baby GIRLS room! It is hard to believe I'm going to have a girl after the 2 boys (Eric and I both say we're not fully going to believe it until she comes out :)). The room is coming along and Cal seems to like his new room and big boy bed. I'll hopefully have a blog post of the rooms when I'm all done. With 10 weeks to go it seems like baby will be here in no time now.  And no we don't have the name decided on so its good we've got some time! We still like the same 2 we had picked out for both Leyton and Cal, but there are so many others to consider too!  In the meantime we're all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jessie's baby, which we don't know the gender of.  Hopefully in the next couple of weeks baby Weimert will be here!

Twins Week!

Last week the boys had a Minnesota Twins week!  On Wednesday the Twins Caravan came to New Richmond, so Eric picked Leyton up from school and took him there.  The caravan is Twins players that come to visit, sign autographs, and there's lunch also.  They had fun and were really excited to meet 2 new possible pitchers, and Bert Blyleven!  Uncle Don and Aunt Sue were also there with little cousin Breck, so Leyton was excited to see him!
Then on Saturday Eric took both boys to Twins Fest at the Metrodome.  Last year Eric took Leyton, and this year he was up for taking Cal too, which was good because Cal is getting old enough to know when he's getting left behind! It was a fun day for them, and I was happy to have time to get some painting done in the Girl's room.

And having some fun in the bounce houses (during flu season...)

Here's hoping the Twins have a great year this year!

Some Outdoor Fun

A couple weekends ago all of the cousins got together for some winter fun before the really cold temps moved in.  We met at the Elementary in NR and the kids got to sled down the big hill there.  Eric has taken the boys a couple times, and with Grace and Lucy, and Kelly and Eric said the hill wasn't as fast as usual.  They seemed disappointed but I thought it was plenty fast, especially when Cal and I wiped out a couple times!  After sledding we took the kids ice skating.  Cal stayed in the van with Dan and Luca for the skating, but really wanted to get out and try it.  I did let him get out and walk on it which he thought was pretty neat.  Leyton did much better on the outdoor ice than on the super slippery hockey rink ice so he was pretty excited about that.   Even little Ella and Maggie did a great job on their tiny figure skates!  Here are some photos from our day.

Kelly getting ready to give Grace, Ella, Lauren, Lucy and Leyton a push down the hill.

Cal loved it this time around!  We were shocked.  The first couple times down he didn't seem to enjoy it, and said "All done".  So I put him in the van with Dan and Luca and a few minutes later he said he wanted to go again.  Then we couldn't get him to stop!  He would go over and over again with whoever would take him, and did not want to be done.

Eric and Lauren getting ready to head down:

Kelly and I trudging back up the hill with the kids.  The kids do really well walking up without complaining or begging to be pulled, thankfully!

Poor Kelly lugging heavy Cal back up!

The outdoor rink in NR has bars to use, which was really helpful:

Leyton getting more comfortable on his skates and picking up speed :)

Christmas 2012 (part 2)

The second half our our Christmas celebration was Santa coming, and Christmas Day at my parents, followed by Christmas evening at Grandma Bostow's in Prior Lake.  We got home late from Kelly and Dave's Christmas eve, put out cookies and milk for Santa and hurried to bed around 11:30.  I couldn't believe Leyton didn't fall asleep on the way home, and how long it took him to fall asleep once he was in bed!  I guess the Santa excitement was too much!  Here are some more photos from our Christmas celebrations.

Leyton busy arranging the presents under the tree:
Santa came!  And he brought the mouse Gus from Cinderella he wanted, and even surprised him with his friend Jaq:
Leyton loves playing Dr. so he was pretty excited about his new Dr. outfit.

Cal was excited about his Spider man toothbrush, and everything else:

Leyton showing off some of his Santa gifts:
Santa brought Leyton the "big train" he wanted, and both boys were really excited to play with it.
Then around 10:00am we headed to my parents for Christmas Day with my family.  We always do brunch on Christmas day (which is one of my favorite meals ever- amazing stuffed french toast) and exchange gifts for the kids' names we drew.
Cal got a cool remote control fire truck from Grace and Lucy:
Lauren and Ella got Leyton the hot wheels wall tracks he'd been wanting:
Cal opening a cool car ramp from Grandma and Grandpa:
Leyton got the bat cave he's been wanting forever from Grandma and Grandpa:

Lauren and Leyton looking cute:
Lauren got this cool balance board from G&G and Leyton (and Eric) had fun trying it out:
Cal was still not feeling well, at all.  He spent the whole day not really playing but curled up on one of our laps.  Hopefully next Christmas he will be able to enjoy it all and not be sick.

Around 3:00 we headed to Grandma Bostow's where we celebrated with her and Grandpa, and even Aunt Sarah and Bryon via Skype!  It was great to see Sarah, and she got to watch the boys open their presents from her over the computer :)

Leyton got his very own guitar, just like Dads, from Grandma:

Cal got a jeep from Grandpa that they think is really cool because it has mud splatters on it :)
And Sarah sent Tractor stuff all the way from CO for both boys!  Thanks everyone for making it such a great Christmas.  We are very blessed to have such wonderful family, and the boys are busy and happy playing with all their new toys!

Christmas 2012! (part 1)

We had a great Christmas this year and are so thankful for all of our family and friends!  It was a lot of fun counting down the days to Christmas with a four year old, who seems to now understand what "2 more days" actually means.  He was a good helper wrapping  presents and called himself an Elf when he would run the wrapped presents upstairs to put under the tree.  And Cal did great not tearing them all open, which I was certain he would.  We had a lot of Christmas celebrations to go to, and I cant believe how fast it always goes.  It was over in a blink and now we're back into our normal routines.

We started out the Christmas season with Christmas with the Krumm's, at Grandma Krumm's house on the 22nd.  We enjoyed good food and it was great seeing everyone.

Leyton, Lucy, Lauren, Ella and Grace looking cute snuggled on the couch:
Cal was obsessed with Grandma's air hockey table!  It is pretty fun :)
Aunt Kelly had Christmas Bingo for the great-grandkids to play and then pick out a gift:
Aunt Jessie made cut-out sugar cookies for the kids to decorate, which kept them busy and entertained for quite awhile:
Leyton loved doing them, and made sure to save some special ones for Santa:

 Cal and Grace being silly:
We had a family "tree" decorating contest.  Each family had to pick a person to decorate.  They all looked great and it was a lot of fun!  Here are Kelly, Max, Jed, Cory and Bob as the family representatives:

Breck, Lindsey and Cal.  Cal is obsessed with Breck and asks where "Baby Beck" is constantly.
Some of the adults enjoying a game of Mexican Train Dominoes.  I've never played but Dave has Eric hooked!

Cal was excited about his coloring book and crayons:

Christmas Eve we headed to Dave and Kelly's house for our Christmas with the McNamara's. We enjoyed great Mexican food and even a visit from Santa! Thanks for hosting Kelly and Dave!
The kids were really surprised when Santa arrived.  Leyton was nervous, and his name was the first one called to get a present, and I could tell he was really excited but really scared!

Cal was even more scared... he hid in the corner by the door, far away the whole time.  When it was finally his turn it was hard to get him up there.
Still not sure about Santa but also not crying, and happy to have a gift like the others I'm guessing:
All The kids, minus Liam and Rory.  Liam and Rory were having similar feelings to Cal!

Happy to get a microphone and candy cane from Santa:

The kids were so cute looking for Santa flying away.  They ran for the windows as soon as he went out the door:
Jessie, Mom, Kelly and Me posing for a picture.  Tina, Susie, Maggie and Tommy were in Missouri for Christmas.
Dan, Wayne, Eric and Dave having fun playing Mexican Train Dominoes again:
The kids in their pj's, wound up:
And the baby bumps.  I was 25 weeks here, and Jessie 33.  She's due mid-February and I'm due the 8th of April.
Cal spent most of the night sleeping on Kelly and Dave's bed.  Poor guy woke up with a terrible cough Christmas Eve morning, and spent the rest of his Christmas celebrations not feeling great.  Here we are ready to go home and get to bed so Santa can come.  We are very thankful for our quick 20 minute drive now!

I'll be back soon (hopefully) for the other half of Christmas updates!
