Sweet Corn!

Cal got his first taste of eating corn on the cob this summer, and he seemed to really like it!  Here are some photos of the boys chowing down on one of my favorite foods :)

Birthdays at Wapo

The first weekend in August we celebrated birthdays and Andy's going off to college at Sue & Don's place on Lake Wapo.  It was our first time being there, as the other times we were still in Dodgeville.  It was fun seeing everyone and going for a ride on Don's new pontoon.  Cal and Leyton even got to drive! Thanks for having us guys!

Cal was happy to get his very own Long John Sunday after church.  He pretty much only eats the frosting off though!

Lake Superior

We made the annual trip up to the Weimert's cabin on Lake Superior, by Bayfield, last weekend.  It was a gorgeous weekend, and we really lucked out with the water not being that cold any of the days we were there!  It was so fun to have everyone there hanging out for a whole weekend.  Leyton also got to experience his first time sleeping in a tent, along with Cal!  The 4 of us slept in a 6 person tent, which had enough room for Cal's pack n play also.  It was nice going to sleep to the sound of the waves and I have to say the kids slept great.  It got a little chilly, but other than that it was a fun experience, and it will be fun to do again sometime. Thanks for letting us use the cabin again Weimert's!

Luca turned 1 on the 16th, so we celebrated his birthday there as well. 

 Cal LOVED Luca's combine present from grandma and grandpa. I'm not sure Luca ever got to play with it the whole time we were there...

Saturday night I told Leyton that I was just going to put Cal in the pack n play in the extra bedroom in the house to sleep while we stayed up and watched Olympics, but when he saw Lauren and Ella's cool air mattress he decided he wanted to sleep with them!  They were pretty cute lined up in their sleeping bags sleeping!

T-ball game

A couple weeks ago Leyton had his final day of T-ball, where they got to play 2 games.  Leyton was so excited to finally get to play a game!  Unfortunately it was the only day all summer that it rained for T-ball so they had to cut the last game short.  Leyton had a blast though, and had no idea they were getting trophies when they were done.  He is still so proud of his trophy!

 I loved how seriously he took his role as short stop... That's him crouching waaaay down ready for those grounders!
