Fiona's First Birthday!

On March 31st Fiona turned one!  I cannot believe how fast this past year went.  It seems like each kid grows faster than the last.  Fiona is a happy one year old, who is getting more and more curious about things, and is trying to say new words everyday.  She loves her brothers and lights up when she sees them come into a room.  She is starting to have separation anxiety when I hand her to someone else, so it's good that Eric drops her off at daycare most mornings, or I would probably never make it to work!

We had a little celebration with the cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Mc's house the weekend of her birthday, and a couple weeks before that Aunt Sarah was home from Colorado and came to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Bostow.  Thanks for helping us celebrate Fiona everyone!

She was excited about her "smash cake":

Even more pleased with the big cake :)
When I set the big cake in front of her she was ready to go in for a big bite!

Her first taste of frosting:

The smash cake was a little big, and had a lot of frosting... I had to take it away before she ate herself sick!

Offering to share with others :)
So happy to be one and eating cake!
She wasn't quite sure what to think about opening presents.

This picture is so cute!  Evelyn had just woken up, and Fiona is wondering how she got all that hair!

Aunt Sarah got Fiona her first tea set, and she loves it!

Water Park of America

Last weekend we surprised the kids and took them to the Water Park of America.  We left early and headed to the Mall of America before we checked in Saturday.  They knew we were going to the mall, and Cal was hoping we could do a couple rides, but they had no idea about the water park.  They were so happy and surprised when Eric pulled up to the hotel doors after he had told them we were heading home!
At the mall:
Cal was really excited to do the barnyard roller coaster and the merry go round:

Leyton, Fiona and I watched while Eric and Cal did some rides.  Leyton didn't want to do any rides, which was surprising.
Fiona spotted Eric and Cal in the roller coaster line:
The kids were so excited that our room had a balcony that looked out over the water park:
Waiting to go down and swim:
Fiona found the pretzel rods!  They are favorite snack of the boys'.
Fiona getting ready to hit the water:
Eric, Leyton and Cal hit the lazy river and the wave pool a lot.

Leyton could have swam forever:
Fiona loved the water!  I had no idea what to expect with her.  She was obsessed with the geyser things that shot water up- sticking her face right in them over and over!
Fiona trying out her first slide with Leyton and Dad:
Cal's turn:
Cal and Fi hanging out in the water:

Leyton worked on his underwater swimming in the wave pool:

One happy kid:
They had fun pulling on these ropes which dumped water on their heads:

Happy girl!

They have water slides for all different ages.  Leyton and Cal were both tall enough to do the big ones with Eric.
Back up in the room watching the stressful Badger final four game.  Fiona was really upset about how the game ended like her mom... :)
Fiona and Leyton all tired out.
They were excited about the bunk beds. Cal slept in the bottom bunk, leyton in the top bunk.  That lasted until about 1am and 4 am :)
Up bright and early and excited to swim again!  It was a long couple of hours waiting for the water park to open at 9:00am.
Leyton pretending to be surfing:
Even Fiona was excited to get back out there!
