Daddy Time

This weekend Eric and Leyton spent some quality time together, giving me a nice break! On Friday night Leyton went to his first movie (with one of us that is- he's gone with daycare before) with Eric in Plateville. They saw Yogi Bear and I guess he loved it! Eric said he sat on his lap the whole time and stayed awake for the entire thing. When we put movies in at home we can't get him to sit still for more than 10 minutes of it, so we were really impressed. Eric said the popcorn may have had something to do with it! Then on Saturday they went to the Children's museum in Madison. We hadn't been in a few months so Leyton was really excited to go. I made Eric take pictures for me- looks like he had fun!
Leyton doing some gardening...Proud of his pizza... Making me a Christmas ornament...

Christmas is coming!

A couple weekends ago we went to get our Christmas tree. Leyton was so excited to finally go do this- he is really into Christmas this year. Every time we walk in a store and he sees a Christmas tree or decorations/lights he yells "Mommy CHRISTMAS!" As you can see however, both boys fell asleep on the way there! So, dad ended up going out by himself to cut it down... Not exactly what we planned, but Leyton was still super excited when we got home and he got to watch dad put it up and help me decorate it.

2 Week Check-up

Right after a bath- not his favorite thing yet...First time in the bouncy seat...
Leyton helping him make a phone call...
On Dec. 3rd Cal turned two weeks old. I cannot believe how fast these weeks have gone, and that he is already going to be a month old this Friday. I feel like he is growing so fast, everyday he looks bigger than just the day before. At his 2 week check-up he weighed 8lbs 6oz- a whole pound and 3oz more than his birth weight, and a lot more than the 6lbs 10oz he weighed when we left the hospital. 8lbs 6oz at 2 weeks puts him in the 45th percentile for weight. He was 20 1/2" long at his appointment, which put him in the 40th percentile for height.

Cal Thomas Bostow

Cal Thomas Bostow arrived at 10:21pm on 11/19/2010. He weighed 7lbs. 3oz (one full pound more than Leyton who was 6lbs. 3oz.) and 20" long. He has lots of dark hair, which we were surprised by! Leyton's was so light we just kind of assumed he would be blonde too! Our due date was the 25th, so he was good to me and came a week early :) and it just happened to be on Aunt Jessie's birthday! The labor was fast, so no epidural again, and I was glad that my mom and Tina and Jessie were able to make it down in time. Leyton stayed with Julie and didn't even seem to notice that we never picked him up from daycare... and of course was so happy to see Grandma pick him up. I can't wait to make our trip back home so everyone can meet him!

Leyton checking out his new baby brother...Lauren and Leyton rubbing Cal's soft hair...You forget how tiny they look in the car seat at first! All of the boys... One of my favorite photos... could the smiles be any bigger!?

Building Teddy

Excited to be at build a bear, finally!Pushing the peddle to fill up the bear with its stuffing...Picking out his heart...Holding the bears heart to his heart...Ready to put it in...Giving Teddy a bath...
And getting him dressed...Proud of his bear!
Last weekend we took Leyton to Build a Bear. Every time we're at the mall he wants to go in there and see what its all about. We were going to do it for his 2nd birthday, but that was 5 months ago... so then we decided it might be a fun thing to do with him before the baby's born, and then he could make a little one for the baby too. He ended up with a teddy for himself that he calls "Teddy" or "Bear Bear", and a little puppy for the baby. He really liked it, and talks all the time about how he pushed the peddle and put the heart in and washed it!

Trick or Treat!

All of the cousins ready for some trick or treating! My not so happy bear...Johnny Depp- I mean uncle Pat- helping Leyton make a candy necklace...Lindsey took the kids over to Cindy's to see all of her decorations and Leyton loved it. When we got in the car he was telling Jessie and me stories about how the witch got him!Kelly and Grandma and Grandpa took all the kids to the park one afternoon- it was a nice break for me, and it looks like the kids had fun!
Leyton and his latest smile... eyes almost always closed, and a scrunched up face!Jessie made cupcakes and the kids all helped decorate them...
Here's that beautiful smile again! :)
Halloween weekend we all headed up to NR for our last trip home before this baby comes. Leyton had a fun weekend playing with his cousins and helping out in the barn, but by the time trick or treating came Sunday evening with no nap, he was a little cranky... By the end of the night he was getting the hang of getting candy though, and even said when we were leaving Aunt Diane's "lets go to another house!". Thanks everyone for the fun weekend!
