Rocket Man

Cal got this ride on rocket for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa McNamara and he's getting big enough now to really get cruising on it. He hops on by himself and takes off!

4 little birdies

On Saturday Jessie and Dan went to test drive some vehicles and left Lauren and Ella with me when they went to return one. They all ran over to the window to watch them leave, and they just so happened to line up in age order too!

A few photos from the week

This week Leyton and I made play-doh. It went well, until the blue food coloring wouldn't come out and we squeezed a little too hard and it shot out all over us (and a few other things)... It was a little stressful getting that all cleaned up, and while we were doing that Cal found a bag of opened potato chips and did this:Notice Leyton's blue arms and tummy:Also this week Cal started hiding/hanging out in Harold's tent (yes the cat). A couple times Leyton and I have been looking for him, certain he went into the play room, and then we finally see him in the tent! Its a really little tent, and its pretty dark so it isn't easy to find him sitting so quietly in there!Leyton thought it was pretty funny to see Cal in Harold's tent, so he had to try it out too:

More Cal and Kitty

Cal's obsession with Harold has not let up! He gets so excited and says"ti ti!" when he spots him!

So big!

Cal has grown up so much in the last few months it seems. One of the more noticeable things is that for the last couple months he's started always using his fork and spoon when he eats. I am sure Leyton was doing this at his age too (or earlier thanks to Julie at daycare and more one on one time with me) but i'm still impressed when I see him eat his entire bowl of cereal with his spoon and actually get most of it to his mouth without spilling! Just another sign that my baby is getting big so fast!

Edinborough Park

When Eric and Leyton went by themselves Leyton came home with this nice chin band aid on... They're not exactly sure how it happened, but he got a pretty nasty cut under his chin. That was the only bad experience of the day though! On Saturday we took the kids to Edinborough Park, and it was a blast! They have a huge kids area called the adventure park, that is basically a giant play structure. I could not believe how high up it goes, and how many slides and bouncy things it had. I also couldn't believe how brave Leyton was- going up to the very top right away and flying down the slides. When he made me go up to the top I got a little sick looking over the edge for a second, and I'm pretty sure I could feel the thing swaying :). Anyhow, Eric and Leyton went right away in the morning and then after lunch and naps wanted Cal and I to go back with them. I was worried Cal wouldn't be able to do much, but they have a little area blocked off just for toddlers that only had a couple kids in it. He loved climbing up all the soft padded stuff, and trying to go down the slides. They also have a gym with neat things for the kids to ride on and another bouncy house. On top of it all, the prices are very reasonable. I am sure we will be going back again soon!

A fun weekend

Leyton was pretty excited to have a fun weekend with ALL of his cousins coming over (whenever there are cousins missing he says things like "I wish all my cousins were here..."). We headed to coffee at Grandma Krumm's house Saturday, followed by lunch and bowling. We havent been bowling in a long time, so they were all pretty excited about that! They also made valentines treats, exchanged valentines, and were even treated to Grandpa's home-made ice cream! It was a nice weekend and we are all a little tired this morning!

Ella, Lauren and Leyton making valentine rice crispy hearts on a stick:
While I put Leyton down for his nap Kelly was going to put Cal down for his... She apparently got the easier job since he fell asleep in his high chair eating! The kids had a blast bowling and eating yummy bowling alley snacks :)It was definitely a lot of work trying to keep Cal happy, entertained, and from running out onto the lanes. He thought all the bright colored balls were pretty neat:

Kitty Love

Cal has a serious love for Sarah's cat Harold, and I'm pretty sure Harold loves him back! Several times a day Harold lays by the patio door and whenever Cal spots him laying there he runs over to him and lays down next to him and puts his arm around him. And Herold lays there for quite awhile before he moves, and usually comes back looking for more hugs! It is hilarious and adorable! Cal especially thought this day was funny when Herold was whipping his tail up and down tickling his legs!He also loves to use him as a big soft pillow :)

Ice Skating

For Christmas Eric and I got Leyton ice skates. He isn't able to skate on his own, but loves to go (although its exhausting trying to hold him up...). We've only gone a few times so far but he's obsessed with pretending to be a hockey player. Tonight he was playing with his hockey stick in the house and I looked over and saw that he'd gotten the oven mitts out and put them on as hockey gloves (complete with buzz light year pj's and a stocking hat:))!

Adorable mess-makers

The other day Cal got into the snack cupboard (again...) and made a big mess of the cheerios. He was so happy sitting in his sea of cheerios and loved it when Leyton got in on the fun with him. Its impossible to be mad when I hear those giggles!
