Happy Mother's Day

Happy belated Mother's day all of you moms!  I hope everyone had a great day.  We started our day with breakfast, cards, and church, then headed out to my parents to spend the day with my sisters and mom.  It was a beautiful day!
I just wanted one photo of the boys together for mother's day where everyone is looking and no one is crying... that is a lot harder than you think it would be!
Maggie, Grace and Leyton hanging out:
Cal loves getting on that Gator:
The kids planted flower seeds for Grandma.  Leyton and Lucy worked hard on their flower labels:
Cal's shirt says "I heart Mum" which I couldn't resist because he only calls me "Mum!"

HUGS!

All I can say is poor Cal...

Some outside pics of the boys

Here are a few random pictures of the boys I've taken outside in the past few weeks.  The water table is a big hit with both boys... they spend so much time playing in that thing!

Cal loves to get outside and just RUN!

Cal's 18 month check-up

Cal had his 18 month check-up yesterday and he is a big, healthy boy!  Everything looked good with his health, his speech and communication skills are right on, and she even said his ear piercing high pitched screaming is normal... I just wish there was some way to stop it!

At 18 months Cal is saying new words all the time.  Some of his favorites are: Mum, Dada, Brother (pronounced Butter), Hi!, kitty, ball, thank you, please, night night.  He's at a fun age right now where he'll try to repeat pretty much any word you ask him to. He has also mastered making car/tractor noises and surprised me one day when we pulled into G&G's farm and he pointed at the tractor and made a great tractor sound!

Here are his 18 month stats:
Weight- 27. 2lbs, 80%
Height- 33.25", 90%
Head- 19.25", 94%

He also had to get shots yesterday and blood drawn for the lead test.  He was not a happy camper and definitely cried longer than I've ever heard him...
Here are some photos from his first appointment at our new Doctors office:
Enjoying some snacks while we waited for the Dr. to come in:
Playing under the table with Leyton:
And on the table:

And this picture was taken BEFORE the shots and blood draw... He was completely over this appointment and ready to go, and then they came in for the bad part!

Buddies

When we moved into the neighborhood we were lucky enough to have a family across the street with kids the same ages as Leyton and Cal (they are each within one month of each other).  Leyton and Gavin have become buddies and they keep a close eye on each others houses to see when the other is outside playing!

Minnesota Zoo!

For Leyton's early birthday present Grandma Bostow got him a membership to the Minnesota Zoo.  We have already gone a few times and it's always a lot of fun!

Cal loved the goats, and they were very friendly too!  Cal had fun pulling pieces of hay out of this one's mouth and feeding it back to him!
Cal also tried to feed one of the big pigs his apple sauce:
He was pretty interested in the baby chicks:
Leyton posing for me as a funny chicken!
And as an egg:

They loved feeding the goats!

 They both loved the punguins:

Checking out the tortoises:

The tiger came right up to us and paced back and forth.  It is always so surprising how big those things really are up close!
The bears always put on a good show!  One time they were swimming and splashing like crazy, and this time they were wrestling and being goofy in the water.
